Pilamayaye ota for subscribing to Red Scare. Apologies for the months-long hiatus. I had to step away to focus on family. There are several more pieces in the works, and I couldn’t do any of this without your support. And I’m making a commitment to publish at least one piece of writing each week.
I wanted to provide several updates about subscriptions to this newsletter.
First, several of you have reached about buying my book, Our History Is the Future: Standing Rock versus the Dakota Access Pipeline, and the Long Tradition of Resistance. It’s humbling to see that there is still interest in the Water Protector movement, especially in the aftermath of the Greenpeace trial. I’d like to recommend that if you’re going to buy the book, be sure to get the paperback version from Haymarket. The paperback has a new afterword putting the Water Protector movement into a global context, examining connections to Palestine, Bolivia, or Venezuela.
Second, my plan is to keep all my writing free while offering paid subscribers exclusive access to a bi-weekly podcast. Through this medium, I’ll respond to questions and comments from paid-tiered subscribers and read and discuss my writing and research. We’re in the process of producing our first episode, so stay tuned.
Lastly, if you haven’t already, you should also subscribe to The Red Nation Podcast wherever you get your podcasts and to our YouTube channel. We’re still publishing an episode every week and a livestream at least twice a week. You can also support that work by subscribing to Red Media’s Patreon. Although Red Scare is a solo project, it is still part of The Red Nation Podcast and Red Media ecosystem.
